A busy spring for Steve Martin
Steve Martin may be known best as an actor and comedian, but he’ll hardly have time for these pursuits because of his passion for the banjo. That passion is yielding new fruit with a forthcoming release, Rare Bird Alert.
Martin’s already had tremendous success showcasing his banjo skills, including a 2009 Grammy award for his album, The Crow: New Songs For The5-String Banjo, and his previous shows with the Steep Canyon Rangers (SCR). They are all once again taking to the road this spring in support of Rare Bird Alert, starting this week in New York City and continuing through the end of May.
Sprinkled in between shows are a few non-performance Q&A sessions with Martin, which promise to be just at entertaining as his music. He’ll even sit down with fellow comedienne and actress Tina Fey to do an interview at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on April 19 . What a cool place to see these talented individuals tete-a-tete!
In the meantime, Martin and the SCR will be making the media rounds with appearances on “Late Show With David Letterman” (March 16), “The Colbert Report” (March 21), and the Ellen DeGeneres Show (May 3) to name a few.
